Emily began dancing at the age of 4, only attending her first class as a buddy for her cousin. Luckily she did as that became the start of a life long love of dance.

Emily trained at the Tivoli School of Performing Arts in RAD ballet and ISTD tap, jazz and modern reaching intermediate standard. During her training she was also fortunate enough to perform in many professional pantomimes, in Disneyland Paris and most notably in the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.

Upon completing a Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance (2014) Emily founded her own dancing school- Ballet Escape Dance Academy, teaching weekly classes in ballet and tap for children as well as adult classes.

Emily also has a great passion for theatre and is part of a committee that runs a non-profit theatre group. She has choreographed and directed many shows for Act 1 Theatre Group including writing and directing an award winning variety show that won a NODA award for Best Youth Production in the South East (2019).

Emily can not wait to get started in combining her love for dance with the fun of Ballet Bums and beginning this exciting new venture!

“BalletBums couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. I love how versatile the classes are and the fact that anyone, any shape and any size can participate and realise how great ballet is for the body and the mind.”
