Bio.

Gemma has been dancing most of her life, at 16 she won a place at Northern Ballet School in Manchester where she spent 3 years studying all aspects of dance, music and drama. Graduating with the Trinity Diploma in Jazz Theatre Dance, the Northern Ballet School Performers Diploma plus Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) teaching qualifications in ballet & modern. Gemma was then lucky enough to travel the world for 4 years performing on Costa Cruise lines. Upon her return to the UK she spent a year working in London, performing in various shows & events in venues such as the O2 Academy & Wembley Arena.

After being offered a teaching role in Somerset, Gemma hung up her performing shoes and spent 4 years teaching ballet, tap, modern, jazz & contemporary dance to all ages from toddlers to adults! She also worked extensively as a Choreographer and became co-director/choreographer of Hope Theatre company, a not-for-profit youth theatre company in Bristol. During this time she also re-trained in holistic beauty & massage.

Gemma has taken a break from dance and her beauty treatment room to have 2 lovely children and complete a 3-year Diploma in Naturopathic Nutrition from the prestigious College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM). With her youngest starting school she is keen to get back to her first love of dance whilst also getting her fitness back, making BalletBums the ideal solution.
