BalletBums Locations Ealing Laura Egan

Growing up in Cheshire, Laura’s love of dance began from a young age, where the teddies were often lined up ready for their ballet recital or as a captive audience of some impromptu contemporary dance performance.

Formal lessons began at the age of 13 as part of Stagecoach Theatre Arts School, where Laura also discovered her love of singing, acting and performing. In her late teen’s Laura began teaching for Stagecoach and also began her own dance classes for children in the local village hall. Laura then attained a degree in Theatre Studies from Lancaster University, a Masters in Dance from Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts (LIPA) a first class PGCE teaching qualification in Dance and Drama from Liverpool Hope University and a first class Masters in Drama Education from Middlesex University. Laura moved to London in 2010 where she spent over a decade running a Performing Arts department in a west London secondary school.

Laura continued performing alongside her teaching commitments as part of City Academy Musical Theatre Company. Laura has also been cast as part of the smaller studio company, performing as the Baker’s Wife in ‘Into the Woods’, and in ‘Songs for a New World’ which was attended by Broadway composer Jason Robert Brown himself. Laura began her own company ‘Egan Performing Arts’ in June 2021, offering dance and drama classes to both children and adults.
